About

Chewy C. Lin is a self-taught photographer, documentary filmmaker, and photojournalist who has been a resident and citizen of the Marshall Islands for the past 25 years. Growing up on a small Pacific atoll, Chewy developed a deep connection to the region's culture and environment, which informs his work today. His passion for photography was sparked while studying in the United States, setting the stage for a multifaceted career that spans photography, filmmaking, and journalism.

Chewy's work is sought after by international media outlets, non-governmental organizations, and the United Nations. He also serves as the official photographer for the Republic of the Marshall Islands government. His photography captures authentic stories from around the world, with a particular focus on the Pacific's rich cultural history and pressing issues like nuclear legacy and climate change. Through his lens, Chewy strives to bridge cultural gaps, foster global understanding, and amplify the voices of the Pacific on a global platform.

Passion projects include documenting traditional Marshallese weaving with climate activist Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner, producing a documentary on the Okeanos twin-hulled canoe, and photographing the first-ever Miss Marshall Islands Pageant. His work reflects a deep commitment to the people, culture, and future of the Pacific.
